Bohol buy-bust: Raps readied against painter caught with P408K shabu
CEBU CITY, Philippines — A 52-year-old construction painter remains detained after authorities allegedly seized around 60 grams of suspected shabu worth an estimated ₱408,000 during a buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, on Wednesday evening, August 5.
According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7), the operation was conducted at around 7 p.m. in Purok 3, Sitio Candait, Barangay Dampas by operatives from the PDEA Bohol Provincial Office, the Tagbilaran City Police Station, and the Bohol Maritime Police.
Authorities said the suspect had no previous drug-related record and was considered a first-time offender.

Buy-bust
PDEA-7 identified the suspect as alias “Elmer,” a resident of Barangay Camayaan, Loboc, Bohol.
During the operation, authorities said they recovered four packets of suspected shabu weighing about 60 grams with an estimated market value of ₱408,000 during the operation.
Also confiscated were the buy-bust money, a motorcycle, a cellular phone, and a black pouch.
As of this writing, the confiscated suspected shabu has been turned over to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Bohol Forensic Unit for laboratory examination and proper disposition.

Case buildup
Authorities said the operation stemmed from information provided by a confidential informant.
Investigators then conducted a two-week case buildup before carrying out the buy-bust operation that led to the suspect’s arrest.
Authorities also alleged that the suspect had been capable of selling or distributing about 100 grams of shabu every week before his arrest.
Charges being prepared
As of Friday, August 7, alias “Elmer” remains under the custody of Tagbilaran City Police Station.
Authorities are currently preparing to file charges against the suspect for the alleged sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
