Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin’s ‘Mommy Guard’ lead TV5’s program slate
TV5 is coming in strong on the second half of 2026 as it unveiled its slate of entertainment and news and public affairs programs, led by hit 90s love tandem of Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin, who will headline the network’s morning series, “Mommy Guard.”
During its mid-year trade launch, TV5 bared to the media and its advertisers its program lineup, beginning with its early morning show, “Frontline sa Umaga,” led by veteran news anchor and TV journalist Ed Lingao, Chiqui Roa-Puno, Dimples Romana, Angela Lagunzad-Castro, Andrei Felix, Maui David, and Laila Chikadora.
This is followed by “Mommy Guard,” which will serve as Magdangal’s TV comeback show, as well as a reunion with former “MarJo” love team Agustin. The comedy series also stars Dominic Ochoa, Roxanne Guinoo,

Magdangal and Agustin were a formidable love team during the 90s, headlining a number of movies and TV shows, among them are the youth-oriented “Gimik,” “Flames,” and “Labs Ko si Babe.”
The singer-actress herself was considered a pop icon, and is even dubbed the “Queen of Philippine Pop Culture” and the original “Multimedia Superstar.”
For this reunion project, the two are banking on their loyal fandom to support their series.
“Natutuwa ako, kapag nakikita nila ang MarJo, ang aming samahan ay napapanahon. Kumbaga, nag e-evolve din. Na nung bata kami, ganito ang awayan noon, hanggang sa nagkaron na kami ng families. And kung ano man yung pwede nilang ika-relate sa samahan namin ni Marvin, napapanahon din. Kaya nandito pa rin kami hanggang ngayon,” she said.
“Isang level up ng kiligan at pagmamahalan,” the actor said.

Aside from “Mommy Guard,” TV5 is also building up its primetime roster with Andrea Brillantes and Enrique Gil’s action-drama series, “A Secret in Prague,” and “My Bespren Emman,” starring Shaina Magdayao and JM de Guzman.
Veteran host Korina Sanchez also upgraded her “Rated Korina” program with the Kapatid network with a more “positive vibes, more love, and less bakbakan.”

“Needles to say, I am very proud to be part of the Kapatid Network na pagkatapos sumiping sa Kapamilya channel (ABS-CBN), ako ang naging anak,” she said.
ABS-CBN primetime series “Sigabo,” led by Coco Martin and Julia Montes, “Someone, Someday” led by Kathryn Bernardo, James Reid, and Maja Salvador, and game shows such as Vice Ganda’s “Everybody Sing” and Luis manzano’s “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.”
