SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — The local government of Salced installed temporary steel footbridge near at the site of the damaged Balidbid Bridge to allow limited pedestrian access while repair and restoration work continues. In an advisory on Friday, Aug. 7, the Salcedo local government said the bridge remains closed to all vehicular traffic. Authorities said only pedestrians are currently allowed to use the temporary steel crossing and urged the public to exercise extreme caution, particularly during periods of continuous rain.
