The 16th edition of Foodpro 2026, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region, opened at the Chennai Trade Centre on Friday.
The three-day exhibition, being held from August 7 to 9, features more than 250 exhibitors. The organisers expect more than 25,000 business and trade visitors. The exhibition showcases technologies and products related to food processing, packaging, cold chain, and allied sectors. It also includes conferences, meetings, live demonstrations, and product launches.
B. Thiagarajan, chairman, CII Foodpro 2026, and managing director, Blue Star India, said technological advancement, changing consumer preferences, food safety, and sustainability were driving changes in the food-processing sector.
P. Ravichandran, chairman, CII Southern Region, and president, Danfoss India, said the food sector needed an integrated approach covering agriculture, processing, cold chain, logistics, packaging, retail, and exports.
Chiranjiv Choudhary, Principal Secretary (Food Processing), Industries and Commerce Department, Andhra Pradesh, and M. Lakshmiprasad, past chairman, CII Andhra Pradesh, were present at the inauguration.
