Trump brushes off Russia’s attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine: ‘We’re separated by an ocean’

Donald Trump brushed off a question about Russia’s attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine, stating that the United States is “separated by an ocean.”

The US president was speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday (6 August) when a journalist said: “Russia seems to have increased their attacks on civilians. That must be of concern to you?”

“We’re not involved... We’re separated by an ocean,” the US president replied. “But I hate to see 25,000 young people a month get killed and that’s what’s happening between Russia and Ukraine.”

“We’re working on it and I think we’re making progress.”
