Police are searching for an "armed and dangerous" suspect in connection to a homicide and house fire in upstate New York.

New York State Police put out an alert Friday morning for the public to be on the lookout for Thomas David Ryan, 32, who is wanted in connection to a homicide that happened at a home in Greenville.

Police believe that homicide may be connected to a house fire that happened on Thursday on Greenville Turnpike, according to FOX 5 New York. Orange County firefighters responded to the blaze just after 7 p.m.

Investigators have not yet released the identity of the victim, and whether the homicide occurred before or after the fire.

The suspect may be driving a 2016 gray Toyota Prius bearing NY license plate HNH-7671, police said.

"Ryan is 6’2" 200 lbs and was last seen in the area of Greenville [Turnpike] wearing black sweatpants and a black t shirt. Anyone coming in contact with Ryan is advised to use caution," NYSP said.

Police said if you see the suspect do not approach him, instead call 911.
