My Chemical Romance has not released a new album in more than a decade and a half. Yet it was only two weeks ago that the band scored a new No. 1 on a ranking in the United Kingdom.
Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys returned to the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart and blasted in at the summit just a short time ago, as the group’s catalog grew in popularity thanks to multiple concerts on the Long Live the Black Parade tour. Those shows took place in Liverpool, Glasgow and London before the trek headed to other stops throughout Europe. Now, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys returns to No. 1 on one list in the U.K., and as it does, it breaks out of a tie with several other titles by the rockers.
My Chemical Romance Returns to No. 1
Danger Days rises from No. 4 to No. 1 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart this week. The full-length first conquered the ranking only two weeks ago, though the set dropped many years prior.
The tally focuses on the bestselling and most-consumed rock and metal albums in the U.K., and Danger Days had not appeared on the list since June 2022 before suddenly breaking back in at the top spot. Now, the MCR classic earns its second frame in charge.
My Chemical Romance Claims Six No. 1 Rock Albums
My Chemical Romance has claimed half a dozen leaders on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. Half of them — three in total — have dominated for more than a single frame. Danger Days now breaks out of a tie with Life on the Murder Scene, May Death Never Stop You: The Greatest Hits 2001–2013 and The Black Parade Is Dead!, all of which managed just one turn in first place.
Danger Days is now one frame behind Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, which has managed three stints at No. 1. The Black Parade remains far ahead of every other My Chemical Romance winner, as it topped the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart for an incredible 11 periods — more than all of the band’s other champions combined.
My Chemical Romance Controls the Top Two Spaces
My Chemical Romance blocks itself from returning to No. 1 with a different title this week. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge bolts from No. 6 to No. 2, giving the group control over the two highest spaces on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. One other collection by the band also appears within the top 10. The Black Parade dips from No. 8 to No. 10.
My Chemical Romance Charts Several Albums
The Black Parade, Danger Days and Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge all appear on multiple lists in the U.K. this week. In addition to the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, the trio of fan favorites are present on the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts, ranking among the 100 bestselling studio efforts in the nation.
The Black Parade can also be found on the Official Albums chart and the Official Albums Streaming rundown. May Death Never Stop You, the band’s most popular compilation, appears on those same two rankings.
