Fast-growing Bald Range wildfire grew rapidly to 50 square kilometres in size

People are being evacuated from their homes in Summerland, B.C., after a fast-growing wildfire sparked near the community.

The Bald Range fire grew quickly to 50 square kilometres in size on Friday.

It is located about 15 kilometres northwest of Summerland, which is on the southwest end of Okanagan Lake.

A B.C. emergency alert on Friday says the wildfire poses a significant risk to life.
