Flights have been suspended at Bristol airport due to a defect on the runway.
Passengers were left stranded on Friday after the runway was closed around 6pm. It will remain closed until 8am on Saturday at the earliest, the airport said.
A short statement posted on the airport’s website said: “Due to a defect on the runway, we have suspended operations in order to assess and repair the issue.
“We apologise for any inconvenience. Safety is always our number one priority. Customers should refer to their airlines with any flight queries. All flights are currently suspended until at least SAT 0800hrs.”
