For decades, allegations of sexual exploitation in the fashion industry, spanning the globe, have resurfaced, often surrounding powerful figures whose deaths have complicated judicial accountability. In the wake of Daniel Siad's sudden death, Thomas offers a scathing indictment of the systemic failures within French law enforcement, the modelling industry, and the highest echelons of power. Drawing on her own experience as a model, and a sexual assault victim, in Paris during the early 1980s, Thomas argues that predatory behaviour was neither hidden nor exceptional but widely understood within the industry, even as institutions consistently failed to investigate or prosecute it. She moves beyond individual perpetrators to expose an enduring ecosystem in which trafficking, exploitation, institutional inertia, and elite impunity reinforced one another across generations.
