Vizianagaram Women Wing Police Station Deputy Superintendent of Police P.V.V. Narasimha Rao said on Saturday (August 8, 2026) that '181', a one-stop solution, has caught the attention of women in distress, providing them with quick support from the police department, women and child welfare and other concerned departments.
Speaking to The Hindu in Vizianagaram, Mr. Rao said that the police department would help the victims of domestic violence quickly and provide them with medical assistance, with the support of other concerned departments. He urged women and children not to be trapped by social media platforms.
He said that the women police station officers have launched a special campaign addressing issues such as gender discrimination, human trafficking, domestic violence, and denial of equal wages for women, among others.
Mr. Rao said that the department had been giving top priority for counselling for married couples when they had disputes and filing cases.
