The incident was reported by Euractiv, according to Ukrinform.

Kurti, who had spent several days negotiating with opposition parties over the election of a new president of Kosovo, attempted to delay a key vote when MP Time Kadriaj began throwing eggs toward the head of government.

"Shame on you!" Kadriaj shouted as she threw eggs at Kurti, who was sitting in the front row of parliament.

The parliamentary speaker called for the legislature's live broadcast to be suspended, while security guards rushed to protect Kurti.

The parliamentary session had to be suspended.

The 51-year-old prime minister has faced disruptions in parliament before. In the past, members of his own party used tear gas inside the parliamentary chamber to protest votes when they were in opposition.

Kurti's Self-Determination Movement party won the latest elections in June, but it does not have the required two-thirds majority in parliament to elect a new president.

So far, the political sides have failed to agree on a presidential candidate.

As Ukrinform reported, in February, a mass brawl broke out in the chamber of Turkey's Grand National Assembly between lawmakers from the ruling party and the opposition.
