Wellington City councillor Tony Randle has died age 65.

The council confirmed his death in a statement this evening.

A sitting councillor for the Takapū/Northern Ward, Randle was first elected to Wellington City Council in 2022 and re-elected last year.

Wellington Mayor Andrew Little said the council was “deeply saddened”
