Accord Party, AP, governorship candidate in Oyo State, Oriyomi Hamzat, has claimed that he introduced Governor Seyi Makinde into the political race in the state.

Hazmat also claimed he supported Makinde to become governor.

Speaking during a meeting with members of the Accord Party in Ibadan, Hamzat said he should be given credit for Makinde’s achievements in the state.

He said: “Seyi Makinde has reformed Oyo. Who brought Seyi Makinde? I was the one. I was one of the people who helped bring him in and supported him while he was governor.

“Why don’t you give me the credit for all those good things? Why is it that people are using the unpleasant part to attack me?

“Those opposition parties, when they want to speak, will say that he did great things, so why shouldn’t I also get credit for those?

“People have called me an ungrateful person. How? Is it not the same Oriyomi who came to you to support him (Makinde), the belief you had in me was shown through the election result.

“I’m not following the government because of contracts. I had an agreement with the government where I support them, and in return, they promised to take care of the masses.

“No transactional relationship whatsoever. I just want the people to cheer for the person I introduced to them because they are doing a good job.”
