Springbok Women cruise past Fijiana XV in Suva

The Springbok Women ran riot over the Fijiana XV on Saturday, outclassing their hosts 55-12 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

The South Africans scored five tries in the first half to lead 27-7 at halftime break, and added another four tries in the second spell.

The Fijiana were only able to cross the paint twice, with Adi Vani Buleki and Varanaise Qoro scoring the home team's tries.

Newly-appointed Fijiana coach Willie Walker said South Africa were always going to be a tough ask, but the Fijiana put up a great fight.

"The [Fijiana players] put up a great fight. South Africa were always going to be a tough ask for us today (Saturday). But what it does is gives us a guage are crruently and areas that we need to be better at for next week."

The South African head coach Laurian Johannes Haupt said they came with a mission and executed their plans well.

The Springbok Women captain Elisabetha Janse van Rensburg said the side is ready for the second Test in Lautoka on Saturday.
