MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. Russia rejects the option of "freezing" the Ukraine conflict and believes its root causes must be eliminated, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview with TASS.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that no 'freeze' is possible without eliminating the root causes of this crisis," the deputy foreign minister said. "It is clear that Zelensky has completely lost touch with reality and is trying to escalate the conflict, provoking discontent even among countries that Kiev considers its partners."

"The barbaric strikes on civilian energy infrastructure alone speak volumes. In July and August, the Ukrainian forces carried out demonstrative terrorist attacks using drones against facilities supporting the operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which primarily serves the interests of Kazakhstan's economy," Galuzin said.

"We hope the international community will respond appropriately, including the United States and European countries that influence the Kiev regime and whose oil and gas companies hold stakes in the CPC," he added.

Russia believes its Kazakh partners fully understand that terrorism must be fought in all its forms and manifestations, Galuzin said. "The best way to achieve this is to curb the terrorist activity of the Kiev regime and ensure peace and security in Eurasia by resolving the conflict around Ukraine through eliminating its root causes. This is exactly what Russia seeks to achieve as part of the special military operation. As is well known, security either exists for everyone, or it does not exist for anyone," Galuzin emphasized.
