Cebu City urges remaining Tino aid beneficiaries to claim payout by Aug. 11
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebu City residents who have yet to receive financial aid for damage caused by Typhoon Tino have until Tuesday, August 11, to claim their assistance.
The city government is making a final call to qualified beneficiaries as the payout period for families affected by the storm draws to a close, nine months after Tino struck Cebu.
As of August 7, a total of 1,350 beneficiaries across several barangays remained unclaimed, according to data from the Cebu City Public Information Office.
Unclaimed financial aid
Mambaling recorded the highest number of unclaimed beneficiaries at 96, followed by Tinago with 72, Guadalupe with 71, and Tisa with 69.
Other barangays with high numbers included Duljo-Fatima with 68, Basak Pardo with 60, Sawang Calero with 50, Inayawan with 48, Ermita with 47, and Lusaran with 46, including nine duplicate entries.
Unclaimed beneficiaries were also recorded in the following barangays:
- Poblacion Pardo
- Pulangbato
- Pasil
- Pari-an
- Pahina San Nicolas
- Punta Princesa
- Zapatera
- Kamputhaw
- Lahug
- Cogon Pardo
- Capitol Site
- Calamba
- Tejero
- Pit-os
- Bulacao
Meanwhile, Hipodromo, Buot, Babag, Cogon Ramos, Luz, Pamutan, Malubog, Sto. Niño, Sta. Cruz, San Antonio, Adlaon, San Nicolas Proper, Mabini, and Kamagayan reported no unclaimed beneficiaries.
Over 40,000 beneficiaries
Earlier reports identified 41,343 residents across Cebu City as beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare Services (DSWS) financial assistance program.
Records showed that 1,766 households whose homes sustained total damage will receive P5,000 each, while 39,577 households affected by partial damage or flooding will receive P2,500 each.
Residents may check whether their names are included in the beneficiary list by visiting their respective barangay halls.
Those who have yet to claim their assistance are advised to coordinate with their barangay officials and complete the required documents before the August 11 deadline.
Beneficiaries must personally appear during the distribution and present one valid government-issued identification card, along with two photocopies of the same ID. / with a report by Pia Piquero
