PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – Authorities confiscated 20 master cases of alleged illicit cigarettes valued at around P1.2 million in an anti-smuggling operation late Sunday night in Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay. Maj. Shellamie Chang, spokesperson for the Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9), said the raid was conducted in Purok Bagong Silang, Barangay Poblacion. The seized products lacked Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) tax stamps and graphic health warnings.
