According to Ukrinform, the Russian-language service of the BBC reported this.

Nizhnekamsk Mayor Radmir Belyaev said that the UAV attack on the city was ongoing. He claimed that both industrial and civilian facilities were under attack.

Belyaev also reported that there were fatalities as a result of the attack.

According to an OSINT analysis by Astra, PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim may have been targeted in Nizhnekamsk.

The regional authorities have not yet said exactly where the drones may have struck.

PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim is one of the largest petrochemical complexes in Europe. The plant is part of the Sibur holding company and processes feedstock supplied by the Nizhnekamsk oil refinery (TAIF-NK) and the TANECO plant.

At around 04:00 local time, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that eight drones heading toward the Russian capital had been shot down. Later, Sobyanin reported that another five drones had allegedly been intercepted.

In the morning, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) said that flights were being accepted and dispatched "with approval" at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport.

During the night into Monday, Rosaviatsiya announced the closure of seven airports — in Tambov, Penza, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, and Moscow's Vnukovo Airport.

Airports in Saransk, Kazan, Bugulma, Nizhnekamsk, Izhevsk, Cheboksary, Ufa, and Orenburg were also temporarily closed.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainian Defense Forces previously struck the Ilsky and Syzran oil refineries in Russia, as well as an observation post on the Sivash drilling platform in the Black Sea.
