MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. There is a need for the large-scale training of medical instructors and paramedics for Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, as well as for equipping them with sufficient quantities of high-quality medical supplies, Kalashnikov Group CEO, board member of the Union of Russian Machine-Building Enterprises Alan Lushnikov said in an interview with TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov.

"The main task that must now be addressed on the front lines is the large-scale training of medical orderlies and paramedics, as well as ensuring the provision of sufficient quantities of high-quality medical equipment to them. In particular, they must be trained in modern approaches to their work, such as the use of portable ultrasound machines – specifically, to carry out the wounded rapid assessment and triage protocols, for vascular access under ultrasound guidance in cases of massive blood loss, and for nerve block anesthesia," said Lushnikov.

He added that to implement this concept, the relevant regulatory framework must be brought into line with modern international standards, including expanding the professional standards for the "paramedic" specialty.
