With a sixth No. 1 in his discography, Wallen breaks out of a tie with Travis Scott, who has racked up five champions. At the same time, he matches Ariana Grande’s six. Wallen and Grande are now tied and jointly claim the fifth-most No. 1 hits in the history of the Streaming Songs roster.
Morgan Wallen Could Soon Match Justin Bieber
If either Wallen or Grande collects another No. 1 on the Streaming Songs tally, that musician will advance again and match Kendrick Lamar and Justin Bieber. Both superstars have accumulated seven champions and share the honor of claiming the third-most rulers ever.
Drake and Taylor Swift sit comfortably in first and second place, respectively. Drake now counts 22 No. 1s in his discography – exactly twice Swift’s sum of 11.
Morgan Wallen Claims One of the Longest-Running No. 1s
In addition to claiming one of the greatest counts of champions, Wallen is also responsible for one of the longest-running No. 1 hits in the history of the Streaming Songs ranking.
“Last Night” spent 19 weeks atop the roster. That total trails only Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, which held on for 26 and 20 frames, respectively.
Morgan Wallen Blocks Ella Langley From a Historic Week at No. 1
As “Been By Now” opens in first place on the Streaming Songs tally, Wallen stops his one-time collaboration partner Ella Langley – the two released “I Can’t Love you Anymore” earlier this year – from making history. Her smash “Choosin’ Texas” backtracks to No. 2, coming just short of earning a seventeenth moment in the spotlight.
“Choosin’ Texas” has spent 16 weeks at No. 1, tying “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber for the fourth-longest reign ever. Langley looked like she was ready to break out of that historic match and become one of only four acts with a song that had managed at least 17 weeks in charge. Instead, her breakout hit will have to wait until Billboard refreshes its rankings to see whether it can topple Wallen’s “Been By Now” and find its way back to the summit.
Morgan Wallen Rules Three Billboard Rankings
“Been By Now” debuts behind “Choosin’ Texas” on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs tally, settling for No. 2, though the cut performs even better on three other lists.
Wallen’s latest single launches at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs, Digital Song Sales and Country Streaming Songs charts. The Grammy-nominated artist earns his eleventh champion on the Digital Song Sales ranking and a milestone twentieth No. 1 on the Country Streaming Songs roster.
