The ‘Janasakshyam’ public grievance redressal adalat should provide a platform for people to raise complaints directly with the administration and get them resolved quickly, said Revenue Minister A.P. Anilkumar.
He was speaking after inaugurating the adalat jointly organised by the Malappuram district panchayat and the district administration at Wandoor on Monday (August 10).
The adalat received 470 complaints related to 21 government departments, including applications that had remained pending for years. District Collector Vinay Goyal directed the departments to dispose of the complaints within two weeks.
The Minister said not all complaints could be resolved at the adalat, but departments would be asked to settle those that could be addressed at the earliest. He said coordination between departments was needed to resolve complaints within a fixed time.
The adalat also provided services such as blood pressure and blood sugar tests through the Health department. The Minister handed over five ration cards approved on applications received before the adalat.
Mr. Anil Kumar said the ‘Janasakshyam adalat’ was intended to be more than a platform for receiving complaints and would also help people access government services in one place.
District panchayat president P.A. Jabbar Haji presided over the function. M. Rahmathulla, MLA, was the chief guest. Elected representatives and officials from various departments attended.
