A British Airways flight attendant has been praised after a viral video seemingly captured her restraining a disorderly passenger at Heathrow airport.
A TikTok posted by DJ and musician Bou, who said he was on flight BA275 to Las Vegas at the time, appears to show a man being separated by a female flight attendant from two other men.
Visibly angry, the man appears to be trying to reach over and grab the other men, pointing at them and shouting.
Meanwhile, the flight attendant in the middle shouts at the man to “stay seated” and “sit down”, while other cabin crew attempt to quell the disruption.
“I will be restraining you, sir, if you don’t stay seated,” the female flight attendant is heard saying in the video.
Bou, who was sitting in a higher class section of the plane, said in a clip that he could hear the disruption from his seat.
The musician said the video of the altercation was captured by his tour manager, and that later the plane returned to the terminal to allow police officers to board the aircraft.
The DJ praised the flight attendant and called on British Airways to give her a raise. Bou is seen in the video sampling the “stay seated” audio from the cabin crew member and turning it into a dance tune.
Bou, who was due to play a DJ set in Las Vegas, later invited the flight attendant along to his gig and played the remix while she danced on stage.
Comments under the video applauded the attendant, calling her a “legend” and joining in the calls for her pay rise.
While the video does not specify the date, the Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called out to Heathrow airport at around 5.30pm on Thursday, 6 August “following reports of a passenger being disruptive on an outbound plane.”
The person they escorted from the plane was later “charged with being drunk on an aircraft and disobeying the orders of the captain”.
Data from FlightRadar shows that the BA275 flight that day was due to take off at 5.15pm, but did not leave for Las Vegas until almost 8.30pm.
A spokesperson for British Airways told The Independent: "Disruptive or abusive behaviour is never tolerated on board and the safety of our customers and crew is our highest priority.
“When these incidents occur, the appropriate action will always be taken."
