A powerful earthquake has rocked Colombia and neighbouring Latin American countries on Monday, with at least 69 people confirmed dead in the first reports as shocked residents surveyed destroyed buildings.

The epicentre of the quake is 250 miles (400 km) west of Bogota, Colombia.
