Man arrested after fire at Auckland supermarket at weekend
A man has been arrested after a fire at a West Auckland supermarket at the weekend.
Emergency services were called at about 4.15pm on Sunday afternoon to reports of a fire at a Great North Road supermarket.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters and no one was injured.
Acting detective inspector Megan Goldie said the blaze was treated as suspicious.
Police arrested a 34-year-old man on Tuesday morning, charging him with arson, she said.
He will appear in Waitākere District Court on Wednesday.
