According to Ukrinform, the Borshchahivka Village Council reported this on Facebook.

“Mass fish mortality and signs of water pollution have been recorded in the water bodies of Sofiivska Borshchahivka. The situation is currently spreading toward the water bodies of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka,” the village council noted.

The relevant services have been immediately mobilized. Experts are inspecting the water bodies, collecting necessary samples, and determining the causes of the pollution and fish deaths.

Until the test results are available and a separate announcement is made, residents are asked to stay away from the water bodies and strictly observe the restrictions.

It is prohibited to swim in the bodies of water, catch fish, consume caught or dead fish, use fish to feed pets, allow children or pets near the water, or approach areas where mass fish deaths have been reported unless necessary.

Citizens are also asked not to touch dead fish or attempt to remove them on their own.

As noted by the village council, the situation is under control, and the relevant services continue their work.

They will provide further updates on the results of the investigations, the causes of the pollution, and any additional restrictions.

As reported by Ukrinform, mass fish mortality occurred in the Vovk River in Letychiv, Khmelnytskyi region, due to the heat.
