Husband arrested over alleged lewd act in front of grandchild

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — A 54-year-old man was arrested after his wife complained that he allegedly committed a lewd act in front of their grandchild in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026.

The husband and his 52-year-old wife are both residents of Barangay Tisa.

Earlier, the woman sought the assistance of barangay tanods and requested that her husband be arrested.

She said she was sleeping on the second floor of their house with their grandchild when her husband woke her up and tried to pull down her pajamas because he wanted to have sex with her.

The woman refused and told him that she wanted to continue sleeping.

However, the husband allegedly knelt in front of her and touched his genitals.

The woman then left the house and went to a sari-sari store to buy food.

The husband allegedly followed her and suddenly pulled at her pajamas in front of their neighbors.

The woman then reported her husband to barangay authorities, who turned him over to the police.

The husband is facing a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.
