NEW DELHI

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) will meet on August 19 to take stock of the political situation and finalise its strategy to step up pressure on the Centre over the student protests and allegations of “theft” of donations to the Ram temple, party sources said.

The meeting, to be chaired by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, is expected to review the party’s preparedness for the Assembly elections due early next year.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and other senior leaders are expected to attend the meeting.

The CWC is likely to discuss a roadmap to advance the Congress’s campaign on issues concerning students, including the handling of protests, as well as its allegations regarding the utilisation of donations collected for the Ram temple.
