Banyana Banyana head coach, Desire Ellis has said the former African champions must be at their best when they take on Nigeria in their play-in clash, DAILY POST reports.
Ellis’ side are targeting a place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup inter-confederation playoffs.
Banyana Banyana will be up against their rivals at the Moulay Rachid Stadium, Casablanca, on Thursday night (today).
South Africa have lost to the Super Falcons in their last two meetings.
Ellis reckoned that the disappointment of losing to Morocco in their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final fixture will drive his team to get a good result.
‘We obviously have to bring our A game, there’s no margin for error, the disappointment of losing the previous game is going to probably drive us to get a positive result,” Ellis was quoted by Safa.net.
