Johnny Depp reunited with The Fast Show star Paul Whitehouse on Wednesday night, 26 years after his infamous cameo on the hit comedy show.

The US star was performing with his band Hollywood Vampires at London's O2, and managed to squeeze in a backstage reunion with his old friend and co-star Paul.

It's been 26 years since Johnny made an appearance on The Fast Show, which originally ran between 1994 and 1997, with a number of specials airing since.

The Hollywood star's cameo featured in the 2000 farewell special of the BBC sketch show, and saw him star in the famous Suit You, Sir! sketch alongside regular cast members Paul and Mark Williams.

In the years since Johnny has called the cameo 'my proudest achievement' and has dubbed Paul 'the greatest actor in the world.'

So, the actor was delighted to see Paul at his London gig, with the Brit star's wife sharing a hilarious video of the two launching into a rendition of the 'suit you' sketch backstage.

With their arms around each other the pals repeat the famous catchphrase 'oh suit you sir' before Paul puckers up for a kiss.

'26 years later and saucier than ever! Suit You Sirs! The @hollywoodvampires were f**king phenomenal! @johnnydepp - we love yooooooou! ❤️' Paul's wife Dr Mine Conkbayir captioned the video.

Mine also posted a photo of her husband and Johnny kissing, joking: 'As per the photographic evidence included, @johnnydepp and my old man have declared their love for each other, so you can expect wedding bells soon.'

'I bl**dy love this & how much love Johnny has for the Brits & our TV, movies & music,' wrote one delighted fan in the comments, whilst another called it 'the reunion we've always needed'.

Some fans begged for a Fast Show reboot starring Johnny whilst others suggested the actor would be the ideal guest on Paul's show Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.

Johnny and Paul have worked together a number of times since the 2000 sketch.

Paul had a cameo in the 2015 movie, Mortdecai, in which Johnny plays an art lover who foils a terrorist plot. He also appeared opposite Johnny in the 2016 film, Alice Through The Looking Glass.

Paul told The Guardian in 2015 that his friend has always championed him and his work, admitting: 'Johnny said I was the finest actor of all time, but that's a bit silly, isn't it – how does he know?'

'I recently did a little cameo in a film of his, Through the Looking Glass, and he said, "Hey man, I'm going to look after you, make sure you're OK."'

He joked: 'Never heard from him again. So Mr Depp can p**s off!'

Johnny meanwhile has said he would be back for another Fast Show appearance 'in a millisecond'.

'If it's Whitehouse and those guys, I would do it in a second. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen on television. Most clever, witty… it's just brilliant,' he gushed.

Paul and The Fast Show stars have reunited a number of times over the years, with televised specials of the show airing up until 2020.

In 2024, the core surviving original cast – Paul, Mark, Simon Day, Charlie Higson, John Thomson, and Arabella Weir – reunited for An Evening with The Fast Show to celebrate three decades of the iconic sketch series.
