TL;DR: Casetify's Henri Matisse x Casetify "Jazz & Cut-Outs" collection launches worldwide on Aug. 13, with prices ranging from £33 to £755.
Henri Matisse's work is instantly recognizable — bold colors and shapes that feel alive.
Late in life, illness left Matisse bed- or wheelchair-bound, unable to paint like before. So he picked up the scissors, cutting shapes from painted paper and arranging them into compositions by hand — what he called "painting with scissors."

Casetify's new collection draws straight from that story. The "Jazz & Cut-Outs" collection draws on Matisse's Jazz series, a body of work centered on rhythm, movement, and improvisation that mirrors the syncopated feel of jazz music itself.
Here's a closer look at the artwork featured across the collection:
- Icarus, plate VIII (1947): A falling silhouette against a star-filled sky, blending myth with visual tension.
- Nu Bleu II (1952): A single, bold blue shape defining the human figure through negative space.
- La Gerbe (1953): A radiating burst of colorful leaves, pure and vibrant.
- Les Codomas (1947): Sharp, syncopated shapes inspired by soaring trapeze performers.
- Le Cirque (The Circus) (1947): A vivid, movement-heavy nod to the big top.
- The Horse, the Rider and the Clown (1947): Overlapping shapes simulating fast-paced spectacle and travel.
- The Clown - Plate I (1947): The Jazz series' opening piece, mixing sharp framing with floating abstract elements.
- The Heart Smitten by Love (1949): A bold red heart wrapped in blue script, made for the journal- Verve.
The lineup covers a wide range of accessories, including Casetify's signature Bounce phone cases, MagSafe cardholders, laptop sleeves, watch bands, and iPad cases, as well as pieces from the Casetify Travel line, such as expandable suitcases.
