One of the oldest cruise ships in the Cunard luxury fleet is set for a major refurbishment.

The cruise line has announced that Queen Victoria will enter drydock at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam from 17 October to 5 November 2026.

The 2,000-guest cruise ship, launched in 2007 and last upgraded in 2017, will be refreshed with new decor, extra cabins and a wellness cafe.

Katie McAlister, president of Cunard, said: “Queen Victoria has always held a special place in the hearts of our guests, celebrated for her distinctive character, intimate spaces and unmistakable sense of British elegance.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to refine the experiences and spaces she offers, with every decision approached with deep respect for the heritage and charm that make her who she is.”

Here is what passengers can expect from the revamp.

Transformation

Much-loved spaces on the ship including the Grand Lobby entrance will be revamped.

The iconic Queens Room, known as the setting of Cunard's signature white-gloved afternoon tea, live music and glamorous gala evenings will also get a new look.

Cabin upgrades

Queens Grill and Princess Grill Suites will be updated with new furnishing and designs, while eight additional Britannia staterooms will also be introduced.

These include three from a new premium category, Britannia Deluxe Oceanview, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows.

The new staterooms will go on sale from 20 July for voyages sailing from 11 November 2026.

Wellness

The Wellness Cafe has proved popular on other Cunard cruise ships (Cunard)

The Pavilion Wellness Cafe, first introduced on Queen Anne and then Queen Elizabeth, will also be added following the revamp.

This popular venue serves breakfast, lunch and daytime dining with a menu celebrating plant-based cuisine alongside sustainably sourced meat, fish and dairy.

Queen Victoria will return to service on 7 November 2026 for voyages spanning the Mediterranean, the Norwegian fjords and the Canary Islands.
