The national flag will be hoisted and Vande Mataram sung in full at 15,000 centres across Kerala in connection with the Independence Day celebrations, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar, MLA, has said.
BJP workers will lead the programmes at the booth, panchayat, mandalam, and district levels. The programmes are intended to shape strong public protests against insulting Vande Mataram, which was a symbol of the country’s independence and unity, and against taking positions that aid anti-national elements, a BJP statement here on Thursday said.
The State’s nation-loving people would see through the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] and the Congress that provided political support to forces seeking to weaken the country, Mr. Chandrasekhar said.
