Kudumbashree is set to add flavour to the Onam celebrations through its Onasadya this year too.

Nearly 400 women entrepreneurs running canteen and catering units across the State will prepare the Onasadya. Customers can choose the dishes and payasams they want if they order the sadya in advance.

The sadya will comprise rice, sambar, aviyal, koottu curry, thoran, olan, kalan, pachadi, kichadi, pulinji, rasam, buttermilk, pickle, sarkaravaratti, banana chips, pappadom, banana, and payasam. The prices start from Rs.170. The minimum order is five sadyas.

Orders can also be placed for ada prathaman, palada prathaman, and parippu payasam, beginning with half a litre.

Bookings have begun in all districts through a call centre and the Kudumbashree community development society (CDS) concerned. The sadya will be supplied by the Kudumbashree entrepreneur in the vicinity of the person placing the order.

Orders will also be accepted for sadyas as part of Onam celebrations organised by government and quasi government organisations, private organisations, banks, schools, residents’ associations and so on.
