The Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi will hold a painting camp and exhibition at River Roost Resort in Moodushedde on Saturday in memory of artist and art teacher Syed Asif Ali.

Mr. Ali, a Master of Visual Arts degree holder from Kannada University, Hampi, had trained many artists at the Mahalasa College of Visual Art in Mangaluru since 1996. He used to take students outdoors to sketch heritage structures and other city landscapes. Mr. Ali was the head of the department of Applied Art at the college at the time of his demise on January 5, 2026.

As many as 20 artists and five students of the college will create artworks inspired by nature at the resort on Saturday morning. The artworks will be exhibited at the venue in the evening, a release said.
