BBC star suffers ‘collapsed lung’ after jumping into a lake during family holiday

A BBC presenter has been hospitalised for a collapsed lung after jumping into a lake during a family holiday.

Chemmy Alcot shared a video on Instagram on Thursday (13 August) of herself diving off a five-metre platform into Lake Annecy in the French Alps.

“Most people badly time a front flip off a five-metre platform and get winded,” she said. “I apparently don't do things by halves. Collapsed lung, chest drain and a very expensive lesson in rotation.”

The alpine race skier also shared images of herself in a hospital bed with wires sticking out of her body.

“I absolutely LOVED Annecy… but I’m not entirely sure it loved me back,” she wrote in the post’s caption.
