Dead fetus found in Mandaue City

MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — A dead fetus was found in Zone Sayote, Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City, at around 3 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, prompting police to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

The incident was reported to authorities at around 7 a.m. after the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) Command Center received information about the discovery.

Responding police personnel proceeded to the area to verify the report, secure the scene and conduct initial procedures.

The Public Emergency Response Team of Barangay Paknaan was contacted, and an ambulance was dispatched to the area.

The MCPO also requested the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) to process the scene, document and examine the area, and collect evidence that could help determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

MCPO Director Police Colonel Cirilo Acosta said authorities are conducting a thorough investigation and coordinating with relevant offices and agencies to ensure that available evidence is properly documented and examined.

The MCPO said the investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the identity of any person who may have knowledge of or involvement in the case.
