Warwick Farm trainer Joe Pride will send two contenders to Wyong on Sunday and is hopeful of picking up a key lead-up race to an upcoming feature at the track.

Pride has talented mare Just Glamourous lining up in the Domeland Mona Lisa Prelude (1200m) with Sam Clipperton taking the ride, and the trainer believes she is on target to show up in that event which leads into the Group 3 Mona Lisa Stakes (1350m) at Wyong on September 4.

“She’s a well-bred mare being out of a Group 1 winner in Global Glamour and she’s been well performed herself on her 19 start career,” said Pride.

“She’s been ultra consistent in her latest preparation for me.

“She won well at Warwick Farm when resuming in April and then ran well again when second, fourth and third in her next three city starts.

“She went down in a tight finish when a last start second behind a handy horse at Randwick and she’s fresh for Sunday’s race having not raced since June 20.

“I gave her a trial earlier this month and she won that which has kept her up to the mark for this assignment.”

Pride will also start debut runner Phoenician Star in the Sky Racing 4YO & Up Maiden Handicap (1100m) with Andrew Adkins in the saddle.

“She’s a mare by Too Darn Hot that has had two recent barrier trials,” Pride said. “She’s had a number of other trials in addition and she’s ready to go now.

“The wide barrier isn’t a help, but I think she can run a good race. Hopefully she’ll be hitting the line strongly and then we can decide what to do next with her.”

The co-feature at Wyong will be the Wyong Leagues Club Cup Prelude (2000m).

The Matthew Smith prepared form galloper Anythink Goes heads the field which also includes the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained import Mo Chroi, which won at his Australian debut at Canterbury before two subsequent unplaced city starts.
