The Kottarakara taluk Nair Service Society (NSS) union has issued a sternly worded resolution criticising former Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar. The resolution comes in response to public statements made by Mr. Kumar about the NSS and its general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair, which the organisation considers derogatory. Strongly condemning the politician’s stance, the union declared that his actions have deeply hurt the sentiments of the community and breached organisational discipline.

In its resolution, the union highlighted the backing provided to Mr. Kumar’s family by the organisation. The resolution said Mr. Kumar is morally compromised and ungrateful, arguing that he owes his political ascent entirely to the NSS. It also recalled the crucial intervention of Mr. Sukumaran Nair during a period of intense personal and political hardship for Balakrishna Pillai, the late politician and Mr. Kumar’s father.

‘Brought disrepute’

The union further challenged Mr. Kumar’s assertion that his electoral success over the past quarter century as an MLA and Minister stemmed solely from personal capability. According to the resolution, his tenure on the NSS board was marked by actions that compromised moral standards and brought disrepute to the institution, which ultimately contributed to political setbacks in the Pathanapuram constituency. The resolution also pointed to ideological and spiritual divergences, asserting that aligning with other religious traditions while holding positions within an organisation dedicated to Sanatana Dharma and traditional Hindu values creates a fundamental incompatibility.

The resolution asserted that Mr. Kumar no longer retains the moral right to remain a member of his local NSS Karayogam unit. Terming his public defiance and alliance with dissident elements unpardonable arrogance, the Kottarakara taluk NSS union called on him to immediately tender his resignation from the union or face formal legal and administrative expulsion proceedings under organisational rules.
