I am always looking for ultra-slim accessories that complement my everyday carry, and I have usually been drawn to how slim tech companies and brands can make their products. Accessories that have excess bulk or lack organization, I tend to avoid. So, I have tested countless accessories, ranging from power banks to stands to magnetic cables and everything in between. So I wanted to share some of my absolute favorite accessories that are not only ultra slim and portable but also serve multiple purposes.
Be sure to check out our hands-on video featuring all the devices mentioned and more. The video covers 11 compact, slim accessories worth checking out!
This is my most recent addition to my EDC, and it has been great. The Snap Grip Stand is made by the same company that created the original Popsocket. It is insane how much they were able to do with something as thin as this. It’s basically the thickness of the iPhone’s camera plateau. Here are the key features:
- Has a Popsocket-like grip for one or two-finger use
- Has a separate metal and adjustable kick stand that rotates 350 degrees
- Supports portrait and landscape viewing
- Double-sided Magnets, meaning you can put more MagSafe accessories on top of the stand itself
I still have no idea how they were able to pack this much versatility into a single stand this thin and light, but it is now a stable accessory I leave on my iPhone. It’s so thin that you can still wirelessly charge your phone with the accessory on! And one last cool feature is that because it’s so thin, it actually eliminates the table wobble when you place your phone down!
The Snap Grip Stand is available on their website for $39.99 and comes in four colors: Black, Green, Lilac, and Silver. They also offer just the grip portion for $29.99 and come in 18 colors (too many for me to list). This is such an easy product to recommend for any iPhone user.
This one is an all-time favorite of mine. On the surface, it’s just another 3-in-1 charger for your Apple goodies, but the build quality, versatility, and price-to-performance are what really set this one apart. You get:
- Qi2.2 25W MagSafe compatible charger
- 5W charger for Apple Watch
- 5W charger for AirPods
- Foldable CNC aluminum design
This thing is extremely compact, thin, and light. The Kuxiu X40 Turbo can be used folded to charge just your iPhone, unfolded to act as a 3-in-1 charging stand, or fully unfolded to lie flat. It is 18mm at its thinnest point and fits in the palm of your hand when folded. The best part is that it includes the 45W charging brick needed to support the 25W fast charging, and it even brings a hard shell carrying case for everything. This is such an underrated device.
The Kuxiu X40 Turbo is available on Kuxiu’s site for $78 and comes in five finishes: Grey, Black, Wood, Orange, and Cherry. This was the first charger to release that perfectly matches the Cosmic Orange iPhone! For $78, you get the charger, a braided cable, a 45W charging brick, and the carrying case.
This is where things get more interesting. I am a big believer in ultra-compact and thin MagSafe battery packs. There is a time and place for larger magsafe batteries, but if you need to charge your phone while actively using it, I would rather have a battery with less capacity so I can still get some extra juice to my phone without turning it into a 2-pound brick in my hand. As of right now, the thinnest and lightest MagSafe power bank is the SolidSafe Air. You get:
- 5,000mAh battery capacity
- Ultra-slim 6.8mm profile
- Qi2 wireless charging at up to 15W
- USB-C charging output at up to 20W
- Charge two devices at once
I have three of these batteries, and I always bring one with me wherever I go. My iPhone 17 Pro battery life no longer gets me through a single day of use, so having one of these batteries is essential in my day-to-day. They are lightweight, look and feel premium, and come in some cool colors.
The SolidSafe Air 5K is available on BMX’s site for $59 and comes in three colors: Black, Silver, and Gold. You can also bundle and get a two or three-pack to save some money. My only request for the next one is to replace the LED light indicators with a small display, as long as it does not increase the thickness!
This is a fun one for iPhone photographers or anyone who likes to be well-lit without carrying anything bulky. The SnapPocket is a small, compact light ring that magnetically snaps onto the back of your phone. It can also flip around so you can get that awesome lighting while using the front-facing camera. You get:
- Eight built-in LEDs
- Up to 90 Lumens of brightness
- Four adjustable brightness levels
- Flippable MagSafe-compatible design
- Rechargeable battery with USB-C charging
On paper, the SnapPocket is twice as bright as the iPhone’s built-in flash and provides a more consistent light source, especially for video. Like all these other accessories, this one is all about portability and compactness. It fits in any pocket or purse and can even be left on your phone since it is MagSafe compatible.
The ShiftCam SnapPocket Light is available on Amazon for $33 (when using the coupon on the product page). It comes in three colors: Black, Blue, and Grey. This is the perfect gift for anyone who wants to level up their iPhone photography without breaking the bank or overcomplicating anything.
I have mentioned this one before, but I use it so often that I wanted to bring it up again. We all know SSD prices are getting crazy, but right now, it is still far cheaper to buy an external SSD than to pay for more internal storage on your iPhone. So when I want to record ProRes footage, I always use my Lexar ES5 SSD. It attaches magnetically to my phone, has a built-in USB-C cable, and lets me record directly to the SSD without taking up storage on my iPhone. You get:
- Up to 2,000MB/s read and write speeds
- USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connectivity
- Supports direct ProRes recording at up to 4K/120 fps
- IP65-rated with three-meter drop resistance
- Up to 4TB
The form factor is another reason I gravitate towards this SSD over others. It is small, compact, and also a bit rounded off. So it improves ergonomics when you are holding your phone.
The Lexar ES5 is available on Amazon starting at $199 for the 1TB version. While that is a higher price than a few months ago, it is still much cheaper than buying an iPhone with 1TB of built-in storage.
Final thoughts
As I mentioned above, be sure to watch our video, where I show off 11 compact, thin products I know our readers would enjoy. These five were just my favorite of the bunch. I am all about keeping things as light as possible, and these accessories fit the bill. From the ultra-thin and functional Snap Grip Stand to the extremely useful Lexar SSD. They all serve a purpose without me having to lug around large, heavy accessories.
