Solomakin was born in Budapest, Hungary. He attended school in Sloviansk, Donetsk region, and earned a degree in Physical Education and Sports from Donbas State Pedagogical University.

Solomakin devoted more than 20 years to freestyle wrestling. In 2003, he was awarded the title of Master of Sport of Ukraine. He later worked as a freestyle wrestling coach at the Sloviansk Soda Plant Youth Sports School and subsequently at the Sloviansk City Council Youth Sports School.

In 2016, Solomakin began working with young athletes at the Youth Sports Club of the Kramatorsk City Council's Department of Humanitarian Affairs. In September 2021, he became a freestyle wrestling coach at Youth Sports School No. 1 of the Kramatorsk City Council. He also served as a referee at sporting competitions.

On March 3, 2025, Solomakin joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He defended Ukraine on the Southern Slobozhanshchyna and Donetsk fronts as part of the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

It was established that the soldier was killed in Novomykhailivka, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region, on May 26, 2025, at the age of 42. He had been considered missing for a long time. Only after his remains were exhumed and identified were his relatives able to lay him to rest.

The farewell ceremony was held in Lviv on August 14 this year. The soldier was buried at a cemetery in the town of Rudno, Lviv region.

He is survived by his wife, two children, parents and brothers.
