Water back in Porirua after burst pipe caused outages

Tiaki Wai said crews worked late into the night to repair the pipe that led to outages for the city centre, Rānui, and Elsdon.

At around 2:20pm on Saturday a 300mm main burst on Mepham Place causing asphalt on the road to crack.

Pātaka Art + Museum, Café Kaizen, Porirua Library, and Te Rauparaha Arena and Aquatic Centre had all closed due to the burst pipe.

A water tank was ordered for affected residents.
