Sara Duterte’s ‘kill threat’ constitutes betrayal of public trust — Abante
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante on Saturday said Vice President Sara Duterte’s online threat to have President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and former Speaker Martin Romualdez assassinated constitutes a betrayal of public trust, as cited under Article IV of the impeachment case.
“Guilty na siya (She’s guilty). I think that what the prosecution team has actually said is enough. Yung threat lang na ibinigay ng vice president (the threat made by the vice president) that is already enough. It is betrayal of public trust,” Abante, who endorsed the fourth impeachment complaint against Duterte, said at the Saturday News Forum in Quezon City.
Abante said that his personal assessment was based on the matters raised and presented in the ongoing impeachment trial.
The prosecution panel has presented witnesses from the National Bureau of Investigation over grave threats allegations and two state auditors of the Commission on Audit over the alleged confidential fund misuse.
