Heart Evangelista reminds ‘mayabang’ influencers about fleeting fame

Heart Evangelista reminded social media influencers to remain humble and kind regardless of their level of success as she emphasized that fame can quickly fade.

Evangelista made the remarks during her guest appearance on the comedy talk show and vodcast “Your Honor,” hosted by Chariz Solomon and Buboy Villar, where she took part in the program’s “Blind Item” segment.

While discussing her blind item, Evangelista recalled an incident involving people who, she said, have been criticizing her.

“I remember one time, and this is already like not very far ago. Sila din ‘yung mga nanlalait sa akin ngayon. Nilalait nila ako. I don’t know why,” she said.

“Oh I love your dress. It’s on sale right?” Evangelista recalled the person saying. “Tapos nagtatawanan sila. First and foremost, ano ang problema na sale?” the actress continued.

Evangelista said the incident served as a lesson on being discerning about the personalities people look up to on social media.

“‘Yung blind item ko is more of like a lesson that you really have to decipher who you look up to on social media. And if it’s too good to be true, most of the time it’s not true,” she said.

The fashion influencer also warned against people who appear friendly or relatable online but allegedly act differently in person.

“Usually, kung sino pa yung kala n’yong, kung sino ‘yung madadak. Na parang trying to be one with people, ‘yun ‘yung actually totoong bully because they’re not that in person,” she said.

Evangelista then urged successful personalities, particularly those who have gained popularity online, to stay grounded.

“No matter how successful you are, matuto kang lumingon kung saan ka nanggaling, maging humble ka, ipako ‘yung dalawang paa sa lapag,” she said.

“Wala akong pakialam kung viral ka ngayon, ang bilis ng ikot ng mundo. Huwag masyado maging malaking ulo, maging mabait ka sa lahat ng tao,” she added.

Evangelista also emphasized the importance of treating everyone with respect, regardless of their social status.

“Kung sino makakasulubong mo pataas, ‘yun din sis ang makakasulubong mo pababa. Kaya maging mabait ka sa lahat,” she said.

“Kapag nag-thank you ka sa waiter, tignan mo sa mata at sabi mo, thank you. Huwag mong daan-daanan ng mga tao porket naka Hermes ka. Maging mabait kayo. Huwag kayong bully,” she added.

Evangelista did not identify anyone in particular in her remarks. However, some netizens speculated that she might be referring to celebrity content creator Mimiyuuuh.

It can be recalled that Mimiyuuuh and fellow content creator Esnyr made headlines last month after they said that they wanted to become a “nepo baby” that came from “clean money.”

Evangelista is the wife of Senator Chiz Escudero. Netizens later speculated that she was being alluded to in the vlog as someone whose wealth did not come from legitimate means, especially after her longtime personal assistant, Resty Rosell, appeared to interpret the remarks as a reference to the actress.

In comments that have since been deleted and were later reuploaded by a fan page, Rosell called out Mimiyuuuh for supposedly “shading” Evangelista.

“Anong pinaglalaban natin mi? Sikat kana, hindi mo need magpasikat,” Rosell wrote at the time. “Eee ang galing ng mag shade-shade @mimiyuuuh (emoji) saan mo natutunan yan? Ingat, baka bigla ka tapikin.”

To this time, Mimiyuuuh and Esnyr have not addressed Rosell’s comments.

Evangelista and Mimiyuuuh previously collaborated in 2019. They have reportedly since unfollowed each other on Instagram. /edv
