According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this in a Facebook update on the situation as of 08:00 on Sunday, August 16.

Russian forces launched 99 airstrikes, dropping 312 guided aerial bombs. They also used 11,235 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,122 shelling attacks, including 64 using multiple-launch rocket systems.

Artillery fire hit Koreniok, Sopych, Bachivsk, Neskuchne, Bezsalivka, Rohizne, Ryzhivka, Hirky, Ulanove and Volfyne in the Sumy region, as well as Khrinivka and Mykolaivka in the Chernihiv region. Koreniok and Ulanove came under airstrikes.

Ukrainian aircraft, missile forces and artillery struck 12 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated, seven artillery systems and one UAV command post.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces repelled four Russian assaults. Russian troops carried out 49 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian units repelled five Russian attacks. Russian invaders attempted to advance near Vovchanski Khutory and toward the settlements of Zybine, Aniskine and Okhrimivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces launched ten offensive actions toward Radkivka and Kurylivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attacked nine times toward Cherneshchyna, Novyi Myr, Drobysheve, Lyman and Dibrova, as well as near Ridkodub and Novoselivka.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy launched 21 assaults near Riznykivka, Kryva Luka and Zakitne, and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka and Pyskunivka.

Russian forces conducted no offensive operations in the Kramatorsk sector.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 28 attacks were recorded. Russian invaders conducted assaults near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Novoselivka, Sofiivka and Rusyn Yar, and toward Vilne, Stepanivka, Novopavlivka and Kucheriv Yar.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces launched 34 attacks. They attempted to advance near Vasylivka, Udačne, Kotlyne and Novopidhorodnie, and toward Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Novohryshyne, Serhiivka and Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian invaders launched two attacks toward Oleksandrohrad and Rybne.

In the Hulyaipole sector, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions six times, attempting to advance toward Charivne, Novoselivka and Tsvitkove, as well as near Bilohiria.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces stopped three Russian attempts to advance toward Stepnohirsk and Plavni.

Russian forces conducted no offensive operations on the Dnipro River axis.

No signs of Russian offensive force buildup were detected on the Volyn and Polissia axes.
