Walang Pasok: Class suspensions for August 17 due to habagat

MANILA, Philippines — Several local government units have announced class suspensions for Monday, August 17, due to expected bad weather brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat.

PAGASA said the southwest monsoon continues to affect the country, bringing rains over parts of Luzon. Two low pressure areas (LPAs) are being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

As of 2 p.m., the state weather bureau said one of the LPAs was unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours. The other LPA, however, had a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the same period.

Below is a running list of class suspensions:

Cordillera Administrative Region

  • Benguet
    • Atok – No face-to-face classes from preschool to senior high school, public and private

Region III (Central Luzon)
