YSRCP leader and former Minister Adimulapu Suresh has alleged that the controversy surrounding the APPSC Group-I recruitment process undertaken during the YSRCP government’s term is being deliberately revived to divert public attention from the alleged irregularities in the conduct of Mega DSC and shield HRD Minister Nara Lokesh.

Addressing the media here on Sunday, Mr. Suresh said the government was trying to politicise the Group-I issue without substantive evidence. He claimed that the Group-I selection process had been conducted in a proper manner and cautioned that the future of 163 officers who were selected and currently serving was being put at risk because of what the “coalition government's political agenda.”

Mr. Suresh said the questions being raised by the ruling coalition over Group-I had already been addressed in the SIT report. In contrast, he alleged that the government failed to provide convincing answers to the allegations over DSC.

“If there are no irregularities in DSC recruitment, why is the government reluctant to order a CBI inquiry?” Mr. Suresh asked. He accused the government of attempting to divert the debate instead of addressing the concerns raised.
