The IamExpat Fair returns to Eindhoven on Saturday October 3 for its second outing in the city, with a bigger careers section, two international centres and a new supervised kids area.
The fair, which takes place in the Klokgebouw in Strijp-S, provides advice and services of all kinds for the international community, including special offers only available for attendees. You can register for free online.
“We are bringing back the large career section, expanding the number of expat centres at the fair, and growing the Family & Kids section,” says event manager Claire Leunissen.
Careers and partners
The careers section includes Brainport and recruitment agency Undutchables, and is aimed particularly at the partners of people who have moved to the region for work.
“The international community of Eindhoven can’t be underestimated,” says Claire. “This small but mighty international community also means that we are able to help the partners and families of expats looking to settle into Dutch life as well, through career opportunities, community groups, fitness schools and Dutch classes.”
Families and newcomers
New this year is a kids area, supervised by childcare provider Korein, where families can play while parents work their way round the stands.
Two international centres will be on hand for questions about registration and residency: Holland Expat Center South, based in Eindhoven, and Expat Centre Maastricht Region. Orion Immigration Law returns with a stand double the size of last year’s.
Language schools include Language Institute Regina Coeli in Vught, Una Paloma Blanca, Bart de Pau and Taalkracht, while the health and leisure exhibitors range from bike subscription service Swapfiets to Happy Bodies and Shakti.
Every stage covered
Workshops and presentations by experts run for most of the day, covering renting, buying a house and securing a mortgage, tax, careers and schooling.
“The fair is an incredible one-stop shop for every part of life in the Netherlands,” says Claire. “International students or young professionals might be looking for Dutch language classes or job related information, but a decade later, they can come to the fair and learn more about preparing for retirement, buying their first home, or choosing the right daycare for their kids.”
“We are excited to bring the IamExpat Fair back to the Klokgebouw, a historic building that embodies the history of technology, innovation and immigration of Eindhoven,” says Claire.
The IamExpat Fair Eindhoven takes place in the Klokgebouw, Strijp-S on Saturday October 3 from 10am to 5pm. Entrance is free with online registration.
