MITS Deemed to be University, Madanapalle, formally commenced classes for the first-year B. Tech, BCA and BBA students with a grand inaugural programme on Monday.
The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by MITS Founder and Chancellor N. Vijaya Bhaskar Choudary; former Director General of DRDO and eminent scientist from Bengaluru, Suma Varghese; Pro-Chancellor N. Dwarakanath; Vice-Chancellor C. Yuvaraj; registrar D. Pradeep Kumar; and principal P. Ramanathan, along with other dignitaries.
Addressing the students, Ms. Suma Varghese said that engineering was a unique profession that encouraged individuals to experiment without fear of failure and develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. She said that the world was undergoing rapid transformation with the emergence of technologies such as Generative Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Biotechnology and Advanced Robotics.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Choudary said that the four years of undergraduate education play a vital role in shaping a student’s future. He urged students to make effective use of every academic and professional opportunity available at the university in accordance with their interests and long-term career goals.
He also highlighted the importance of students having access to laptops and digital learning resources, and encouraged them to utilise the university’s high-speed Wi-Fi facilities, state-of-the-art laboratories, technological resources, minor degree opportunities, additional credits and industry-oriented training programmes.
