We are back again with another series of top picks from the official Apple Certified Refurbished Store. A increasingly notable source of savings on iPhone, MacBook, Studio Display, and Apple TV, we aren’t talking about iPhones some guy’s cousin pieced back together to resell here – Apple’s “rigorous refurbishment process” is in fully in place alongside a proper 1-year Apple warranty too.
Hit the jump for a closer look at this week’s top picks we have sitting in our carts – iPhone, MacBook, Studio Displays, and more.
Apple Refurb Store – Picks of the Week
***Stock can be very limited on Apple Certified Refurbished products
Justin – iPhone 16 Plus, Pro, and Max
You will find Amazon renewed iPhone 16 Pro models for less, but when it comes to refurb iPhone units, I much prefer something with the Apple seal of approval. Aside from perhaps AirPods, I would argue iPhones get beat up more than just about any other piece of Apple kit someone has already owned, so I will be going straight to the source to score unlocked refurbed iPhone units, complete with a proper Apple 1-year warranty of course.
There are plenty of series 16 models – a phone that will remain relevant for years to come if you ask me – available on the Apple refurb shop starting from $699, but it is this 1TB 16 Pro Max at $1,269 that caught my eye. That’s $330 less than the comparable 17 Pro Max, and $130 less than the 512GB 17 Pro.
- Refurbished iPhone 16 from $699(Up to $330 less than series 17)
Chance – MacBook Air
MacBook Air is my go-to recommendation for people in my life shopping for a new Mac. It’s available in 13-inch and 15-inch (my favorite) screen sizes, with plenty of RAM and storage configurations for varying workflows. The best place to find MacBook Air offers right now is through Apple’s refurbished store:
- 13-inch M5 MacBook Air with 1TB storage and 16GB memory: $1,359(Reg. $1,599 new)
- 15-inch M5 MacBook Air with 1TB storage and 16GB memory: $1,529(Reg: $1,799 new)
- … and many more configurations …
Zac – 48GB RAM MacBook Pro
What’s the best way to maximize memory on a budget? Apple’s refurbished MacBook Pro comes in five versions with 48GB RAM included. The 16-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro is easily the best deal for high memory needs — like working with local AI models — and it’s well below $3K.
Other 48GB RAM configurations offer newer and beefier Apple silicon, nano-texture display, and more CPU and GPU cores. For $2719, the 16-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro with 48GB RAM is a great deal for high memory needs.
Marcus – Studio Display XDR
It took a while, but the Apple Studio Display XDR is finally available through the company’s Certified Refurbished Store. And while the display escaped Apple’s recent price hikes, it wasn’t exactly cheap to begin with. That makes the roughly 15% refurbished discount a welcome one, especially for anyone looking to upgrade their setup with Apple’s 27-inch 5K display, which features P3 and Adobe RGB color support and a 120Hz refresh rate.
- Refurbished Studio Display XDR – Standard glass – VESA mount adapter: $2,459 (Reg. $2,899)
- Refurbished Studio Display XDR – Standard glass – Tilt- and height-adjustable stand: $2,799 (Reg. $3,299)
- Refurbished Studio Display XDR – Nano-texture glass – Tilt- and height-adjustable stand: $3,059 (Reg. $3,599)
Jeff – Apple Studio Display
The aforementioned Studio Display XDR is easily the more desirable of the two displays that Apple currently sells, but the baseline Studio Display can be had for $1100 less than its more capable variant on Apple’s refurbished store.
The main selling point for the regular Studio Display? It features a minimalist all-metal-and-glass design. While it lacks high-frame-rate capability, AdobeRGB support, and mini-LED backlighting, it received a much-needed dual Thunderbolt 5 update that finally allows for daisy-chain setups. It’s far from the most bang-for-your-buck monitor out there, but design-wise, it’s in a tier of its own.
- Refurbished Studio Display – Standard glass – Tilt-adjustable stand $1,359 (Reg. $1,599)
Ben – MacBook Neo
The MacBook Neo is the newest kid on the block, and enough Mac for everyday use for many people. It saw a $100 price increase not too long after launch, but buying through Apple’s refurb store restores the original pricing.
